In this clip from the Right On Target Podcast, we give our full reaction to J. Cole’s THE FALL OFF and break down both discs track by track.

We talk about why Disc 29 felt stronger than Disc 39, the standout moments across the project, and how J. Cole’s pen is still as sharp as ever. The storytelling is there, the production is solid, and there are definitely songs that will stay in rotation.

At the same time, with 24 tracks and a nearly two-hour runtime, we discuss how the album feels as a complete body of work, whether some of the themes feel familiar, and why it doesn’t quite land like a defining career moment.

Overall, THE FALL OFF is a good album. The question is whether it feels like something bigger.
