Professional Athlete
Madison Scott is a nationally recognized student-athlete, leader, and community advocate who served as a Team Captain for the Ole Miss Women’s Basketball team. A native of Indian Head, Maryland, Madison was a five-star recruit ranked in the ESPN HoopGurlz Top 15, a McDonald’s All-American, and a Jordan Brand Classic selection. She made history as the first McDonald’s All-American to sign with Ole Miss, ushering in a new era for the program.
At the University of Mississippi, Madison majored in Psychology with a minor in Sports Administration, all while excelling as a key contributor to the Rebels' rise in the SEC. Known for her defensive tenacity, versatility, and leadership, she has earned numerous accolades including First Team All-SEC, SEC All-Defensive Team, Second Team All-SEC, SEC Freshman of the Year, and selections to prestigious national watch lists like the Naismith and Wooden Award lists. In the 2023–2024 season, she was also chosen as a representative on the SEC Leadership Council. This past year, Madison was honored with the Gillom Trophy, awarded annually to the top women’s college basketball player in Mississippi.
Madison is the proud founder of the Madi Scott Basketball Foundation, a nonprofit organization established to create opportunities for youth through basketball skill development and life skill preparation. As a student-athlete at Ole Miss, her mission is to give back to kids in communities, especially those lacking access to essential resources, who share the same love for basketball. Through this foundation, Madison aims to teach more than just basketball; she emphasizes the development of values such as communication, patience, commitment, perseverance, resilience, and hard work. The foundation has hosted youth basketball camps in St. Croix and Oxford, Mississippi, with plans to expand its reach and impact even further. Madison’s vision is to use basketball as a vehicle for lasting transformation– both on and off the court.
Her “why” is her family, especially her three younger siblings: London, Summer, and Zion. They are her biggest motivation and serve as a daily reminder of her purpose, inspiring her to lead by example and create opportunities that extend far beyond the game.
Her impact goes beyond athletics. Madison has interned with the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), where she analyzed cases, helped organize community events, and in September 2024 officially became a CASA Volunteer Advocate, working directly to support children navigating the court system. She is also actively involved in service work through programs like Reading With Rebels, Feed the Sip, A Hope to Dream, and More Than a Meal.
With a strong faith, deep love for her family, and commitment to leadership and service, Madison Scott exemplifies what it means to lead with purpose– as a student, athlete, and role model.
